Sometime ago we mentioned Molv, a service that was in alpah stage (still is) that alowed video streaming from phones. Well, we did try to test it, but things did not work like they should, and user adoption seems very low.
Well, there are far more interesting alternatives like Qik, that however does not support UIQ3, and specially Bambuser: this one as a native UIQ3 client, a large userbase and it does work very good (i have tested it).

That´s right. If you go right now to http://uiq.com, you can find the banner above, that is clearly hinting a new device or a new UI.
Meanwhile, look what else is new:

Right now the UIQ3 hacks/mods scene is booming, but sometimes can be a bit confusing.
There´s need for a place to centralize all resources, and the uiq3 wiki is the best place for it.
So please, start writing all the stuff: http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Hacking

If you have a Saab 9-X BioHybrid concept model, that is
It turns out Sony Ericsson is still doing some stuff with UIQ3 after all. Demonstrated at July’s British International Motor Show in London, UK, Sony Ericsson and Saab have collaborated to use a P1 smartphone, with an UIQ 3 touchscreen application and Bluetooth™, to remotely control elements of Saab’s 9-X BioHybrid concept car.
You can see the P1 in action at the British Motor Show by viewing Megawhat.tv’s interview with Sony Ericsson (between 3.10 and 4.55 minutes).

RMR Software today announced they are releasing an entire suite of software for UIQ phones. This is what Al Richey from RMR posted today at my-symbian:
Having told everyone I could not produce programs for UIQ3 because OPL was not supported, I have now managed to produce UIQ3 versions of RMRBank, RMRFuel, RMRExpenses and RMRCar.
BUT they are not what I would wish to produce. The only system I had available was to use the new Styletap Palm Emulator to run the Palm versions of the programs. As such, although most of the functionality is there, the User Interface looks very old-fashioned and clunky and nothing like the UIQ3 standard. And it involves driving a cursor around to simulate a touch screen.
The BETA versions are now available at www.rmrsoft.com.
It is worth to say that RMR used the new NSBASIC to compile the applications, and that is why they can be run outside styletap (thanks to George from NSBASIC for the explanation).
