Smartphone Show day 2: SE “announces” SF device, Moto shows a black Z10

Folowing our yesterday´s rant, our friend Stuart keeps reporting from London. On the second day of the Symbian Smartphone Show we learn that Sony Ericsson´s first Symbian Foundation (SF) device will be available on the second half of 2009, and will be compatible with s60 (or they´ve could have just said its gonna be an s60 device, as we all know).

Motorola, on other hand, showed they were serious with symbian/uiq after all, and displayed an “amazing” black z10 (!?).

  4. Why 2nd half of 2009?? Isn’t Symbian Foundation due 2010?

  5. Hello

well, and how if UIQ4 would not have been backward compatible with UIQ3 ? Then what is the difference between S60 V5 and UIQ4 ?

Just the name ! So what ?

  6. Was there anything interesting from UIQ themselves?

  7. Some interestin info appeared at esato.

  8. I hope the UI will be much much better in SE. nokia does not know how to make good and cool UIs.

  9. [...] never really think Motorola was commited to UIQ. And the recent poor display at the Smartphone Show convinced us even more, not only regarding UIQ, but also regarding the Symbian Foundation [...]
