Am I missing something? Is Opera 9.5 available for download, in order for me to use these widgets?

I’m slightly confused about how to import these… do i move the zip files to the import folder, or extract the contents into the import folder? or something third?

Copied the zip files to the folder named in the readme, on the drive where I also installed Opera, restarted etc. but no new widgets are being shown ;-(

Right folks, I have found a way to use the Facebook and Youtube Widget with Opera. If you have Opera 9.5/9.6 installed on your desktop PC, run it. From the Widget menu, select Add Widget. That will take you to the widget website. Simply search for the facebook and the youtube widget and launch them both. They will be installed on your computer and immediately available for Opera to use.

Now since Opera Mobile only downloads wgd files, we need to locate these widgets on our desktop pcs. So which ever system you are using, simply open up windows explorer, and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\widgets

You will find 2 wdg files there. Simply copy these files to you phone and try accessing them. Opera Widgets on your phone will detect the files and install the widgets for ya.

Hope this help… Just it and it works with facebook… Not had a go with YouTube yet.

If you are having trouble with finding the files, here they are for you.

dudes, you just have to rename the widgets from .zip to .wgt !
copy them to your memory card and you can start them with your filemanager.
I have to correct Emmanuel, the widget files are normally called .wgt not .wdg ;)
I’ve played a little bit with the widgets, and i found an ip-adress widget for the desktop version of opera.
Tested it on my W960i but its to wide.
But I think i could edit it, because it works actually and you can easily extract the zip/wgt file.
Let’s see what i could do in the next days.
Opere Widget - Ip-Adress

Just another tip, if you wish to find out where all the widgets are actually installed, simply browse to d:\System\data\Opera95\opwidget\widgets (assuming you have OP 9.5 installed on your memory card).

Hi ares,

This is the solution I have found to that issue. Follow the instructions that I set out in my earlier post. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to d:\System\data\Opera95\opwidget\widgets (if you have Opera Mobile installed on the memory card). Extract the files from the original archive that was posted here to d:\System\data\Opera95\opwidget\widgets.

At the same location, use a text editor, locate the file called widgets.dat and open it. This is an XML file that holds the details of all the widgets that have been installed. Locate the Facebook and Youtube ones, and rename the “path to widget data” values.

i.e. The facebook widget becomes:

d:\system\data\opera95\opwidget\widgets\facebook widget_6696_1.7.zip to d:\system\data\opera95\opwidget\widgets\facebook.zip

and the YouTube becomes:

d:\system\data\opera95\opwidget\widgets\youtube_4545_1.1.zip to d:\system\data\opera95\opwidget\widgets\youtube.zip

Hope this helps.

Any problems, let me know.

Hi everyone here, I got a solution to run the all beibei widgets successfully on my P1i. Simply download and install the ‘File Associate 1.0′ from this forum. Extract the beibei widgets using X-Plore to D:/system/data/opera95/opwidget/widgets. Now using File Associate to assign ‘Compressed File’ by ‘Opere Widget’. Now just browse to the same folder again and launch the youtube.zip and enjoy it.

Just rename them (if necessary), 4 example: youtube.wgt and put them in the 2001D798/import, folder and restart opera widgets and opera auto configs the widgets.
