i am so envious for the n95 users with their camera that can take such fluid videos.. ok the resolution of the P1i isn’t still that good, but the fps is almost and that’s very cool!
but i can’t understand why SE would limit the quality of the camera in their devices by software if the hardware is able to do so much better.
almost 30 fps instead of the normal 15 fps makes a big difference in my opinion…
tried the file.. surprisingly had nothing in the private folder..
the only new file is cmra_bursting.mbm
keep us posted! otherwise, way to go once again

is that it, or do i need to do something else??
all works,,, the video is amazing,,, again amazing mod…
i would like to see focusing before taking a video mod , helps me in taking videos of near objects.

Ok I ve tested it and the result is really amazing. Just one rhetorical question: why didn’t SE give us that possibility by itself since the hardware of the P1i can support it?

If any of you are facing this problem, then pls change the settings to ‘ save pics to phone memory’

to make it work in english, just copy the PVCAMERA.RSC (the extension may vary depending on your country, but it will usually be Rxx. Some people have the extension as R30. For me, it’s RSC). The file can be found in Z:\Resource\Apps folder. Copy it to C:\Resource\Apps…thats all…and you don’t even need to reboot your phone for the change to reflect…just make sure you have exited the camera app prior to replacing the files.
If you wanna work with english language. You could do like bizzy did or you could just remove the pvcamera.r** included in the package and it shall do. I use the second method
Video is realy cool now. I tested and now i have 28FPS, realy look nicer
Everything is in your language (Polish for me), just like bizzy sad, copy yours PVCAMERA.RSC from Z to C and everything is OK (But do not upload PVCAMERA.r16 from this package).
Some photos have now 1,5MB - wow!

LAU, it also increases photo files size, by reducing jpeg compression…this should alow better results, but not much better…to get real improvements, we have to figure how to mod the camera driver

It works perfectly, images are a little bigger in file size, but you won’t notice much difference, it is just a small decrease in the amount of jpg compression, so don’t expect a miracle.
The 6 photos burst work also very nice.
The videos are much better, but I understand why Sony Ericsson did limit the hardware, one of the problems that comes with using this mod with your videos is that sometimes you can have tearing in the images, mostly when you move the camera too much for panning for example, still, if you don’t move it much and there is no much movement in front of the camera, it works great, much smoother than the old limited version.
About the language: just as said before, replace the pvcamera.rsc with the one that is already in your z: drive (pvcamera.r*). It will work for any language, for me is Dutch and it does work very well.

I m starting to get problems now….after some days of great videos, now the video quality is getting jumpy…i m also getting skipped frames and the capture freezes for split seconds…initially the framerate seemed to be 30FPS really but now it seems to have come down to 25-27…any idea why this is happening??
I checked for free ram and anything that may slow down the system but didnt find anything…
Also, any solution for the color balance/saturation problem? I tried to copy some stuff from a modified K750 driver and paste in this txt file but didn’t work…
Oh, and by the way I got a W960.
How do I get and install the changes?
Does any one know wehre to get a copy from? English version?
Sorry - too late in the day. I have overwriten my pvcamera.r16 file on the load process and can’t find the repalcement in the z:resource folder. Does any / Cna any one oint me at a replacement pls.
Burst mode works to 6 but only show 4 pics - no Russian language which is a shame in a way.
How can i get step by step of camera mod procedure on p1i with download links where possible.
