NS BASIC for UIQ3 released

Excellent news guys:

Full press release here.

NS BASIC Corporation has announced they have released Version 1.0 of NS
Basic/Symbian OS. It’s a Visual Basic-like development environment which
makes it easy to create apps for S60 3rd Edition and UIQ3 devices. You
use a graphic editor to lay out your program, a code window with code
completion to add the code and it produces a signed installer that is
ready to go. If the Carbide++ tools look like they’re too much work to
use, this could be a good alternative.

[thanks to George from NSBasic for the heads up]

  1. Does this produce a native Symbian executable? Or does this rather run on some kind of Virtual Machine like Java?

  2. It generates symbian executables. See my post about RMR software, they used NSBASIC to make sis installers out of palm apllications that run on Styletap
