Our friend Phoner was fortunate to get his hands on highly antecipated but never to be released G702, aka Beibei aka P220i. At USEB, there is already a set of photos of the phone itself.
Now we bring you screenshots of the sofware running, courtesy of Phoner. Notice Opera 9.5 and the widgets platform running:
A final request: Phoner needs some help to get a more deep look into Beibei´s file system. The normal UIQ3 procedure is not working (apptrk causes phone to reboot), possibly because it runs a n UIQ 3.3 based in Symbian 9.3. Nevertheless, all UIQ3 aplications install fine. If you think you can help, tell us on the coments.

Beibei is a nice phone with the worlds best OS and UI inside. What a waste if SE will cancel it.
Phoner, I’m interested about it’s memory usage screenshots in SwissManager because the previous leaks we saw wasn’t running 3.3.
How is the overall feel and responsiveness now that it’s 3.3? particularly in opening one message to the next.

It’s very nice. I think UIQ reached the limit of ability so that’s why SE will abandon it very soon…so sad!

Oh, come on. Why is it like this? Every time something like this happens, the first thing people say is: “oh, there’s got to be something wrong with the format/phone/OS/hardware. It can’t possibly be that [insert company] is a greedy bunch of [nice people] that want to [sell] you over with a product that’s easier to develop from their existing business- model! Oh, no! Obviously not!”.
Honestly, why is this? If your favourite football- producer suddenly started making rubber footballs with painted on leather flaps, because it “sells better to a larger demographic, and has a more stable market in the coming period” - do you say: oh, I guess I do like a plastic football better after all. Plastic is the future - probably it was the end of the line for leather footballs. They’ve reached the end of their ability.
Because there’s just NO OTHER REASON why a company would sell you cheap crap for lots of money if they could, now is there.

How fast is the Beibei actually regarding the processor and memory? Should I keep my hopes up that some programs/plugins e.g. standby panels and opera 9.5. could be reality on the M600i someday or is the M600i just too lousy specwise for that?
