Hello

Having a quick look to mobile shops in Germany, SE is in a very bad shape. Majority of shown phones is Nokia, then Samsung, LG, Blackberry and SE. Nokia is now considered as better for Photo and Video, and they are recovering for Music. Needless to say, that SE is also far behind for GPS as well. What did they do in SE the last 2 years ? How comes, that Nokia is so much ahead? And now, Nokia has announced OTA Firmware update for N82 ! We UIQ users are still using Symbian 9.0 where Nokia is support 9.3 or higher for there phones. I donot understand all of this ! UIQ programmers are said to be brillant, but as a user, where can I see that and where fo I have the benfit ?
I think that SE is now trying to survive in the “shadow” of Nokia and S60. SE is probably too small to do all the Software R&D themself anymore. Siemens Benq was in a same situation with the SX1, then they decided to give up smartphones and 1 year later, they are dead !

I agree with Gerhard: there was nothing interesting in this video.

If that’s what the Swedes call an expert, then SE demise is not a surprise :p

Nothing interesting??? First, remember SE if from Sweden…second, the guy states SE is doing nothing whatsoever in terms of keeping up with the trend of mobile companies investing in services, third he has first hand knowledge from inside SE that P5 was canceled days before the symbian foundation announce, fourth he says Nokia´s intentions in this are still not clear

Plenty of food for though, but that´s me ;)

What bothers me most is that although my P1 is nearly perfect for the use I give it, by now I expected to be drooling about the next Px from Sony Ericsson.

Well, there are UIQ versions that uses Symbian 9.3, but for some reason Sony Ericsson decided to stick to UIQ 3.0.

Nokia also does not have any phone with Symbian 9.3 in the market right now…the first will be N96 AFAIK

Hehe, good old Erik :) He’s right, though, and no need to question his friend’s statement about Paris :)
