Right now most of you already know that both Paris and Beibei projects were abandoned by SE.
Unlike some, i am not very concerned about this, in the sense that the devices we came to know lately as Paris and Beibei where based in a dated harware solution, already used to exaustion, that did not represent what today users demand and would keep UIQ underpowered versus competition.
I am however concerned if this means that the new UIQ devices within the new hardware platform will take too long to be launched. I mean, its time to present the P1 sucessor, at least. SE has many projects in development at same time, not just Paris and Beibei, so, lets see what happens.
And this brings me to what will happen tomorow: there will be a big announcement, concerning UIQ and its licensees (SE and Motorola) plans. We hope it will bring good news to us UIQ enthusiasts, and shed some light about what to expect in terms of future devices.

Hello
thanks Ares ! As far I am concerned I will wait for a possible P1i successor. I like UOQ3.
One forgotten point, is that, Smartphones today are more omplex than PC´s. So good things will take time.

Maybe this is due to the reports of Sony Ericsson and HTC merging or extending their cooperation.
Maybe a UIQ Xperia? (HTC builds those apparently)

I’m moving over to iPhone 3G for now. I think its biggest advantage is that the producer (Apple) has a big interest in good applications (namely a 30% share). This is both unique and new for a smartphone. SE developer relations suck big time and even if they launch a new device tomorrow I don’t expect many new applications in coming months. Nobody knows what the future plans for UIQ are and I don’t blame developers for focusing on other platforms.
