Remember that you can get updates from twitter on your phone by sms, and also use gtalk + some UIQ3 messenger app like Slick or Fring to do it. There´s also a java client, called TinyTwitter, and the mobile web access page http://m.twitter.com/
Note: eventually we may jump to Jaiku instead, now that it was bought by Google, if they come to release a native UIQ3 client.
