  1. Hello

It is great, that mobile-reiew makes such reports. However, although I did not have the BeiBei in my hands, I feel, that the report is too negative.

Overall, I am missing some objectivity from mobile reiew. First, the have been very positive about UIQ3 with the P990. Although they have had the phone for testing for at least several weeks they did not mentioned (not recognize?) the lack of memory. The 4th part of the testing was deleted…

Now that SE is launching several UIQ based phones to check customers taste, they are complaining. But in fact Nokia is doing the same. Because it is close to impossible to predict sales succes of a phone, several phones in E- and N- series have been launched. At the end of the day only few of them are a sales success. This is consumer business and most of successfull companies are doing this in consumer filed !
Why SE is not allowed to do the same ?

I am curious to see the sales succes of SE new handphones.

  2. Well…they are very positive about g700 and g900, not so much about Paris and Beibei - but regarding those 2, no one can be sure of anything untill they are announced

  3. And I guess that was… two words on the software? And Eldar decides it’s a competitor to “yesterday’s offerings” from nokia. Because… the frame looks similar? ..

You know - SE could send one of those prototypes over here. I’m sure I’d be able to jot down a few sentences on what the device does (..probably even without scoffing at the stupid “generation web” label more than once).

  4. What eldar stressed was that instead of wasting lots of sums of money introducing somehow same phones, they (SE) could at least upgrade the cpu.
As eldar mentioned, the next cpu generation will not arrive no sooner than 2Q 2009, by then i’m sure SE will lose LOTS of it’s longtime fans and will only get SOME new customers with their new G series

  5. while they could win much more users by betting in high end stuff (and that remains to be seen), i disagree the number of uiq smartphone fans they´ll loose because of it will be superior to the number of new smartphone users they will get with G700 and G900 - its only out in a few Scandinavian countries, but i already could see that ALOT of people buying those devices never had a smartphone before, they were SE feature phone users - this is very important! The net result will be = despite all troubles, 2008 will see the biggest number of SE UIQ users EVER

  6. when i say “that remains to be seen”, i am refering that we have to wait for the announcement to proper evaluate the hardware…its clear SE can hide stuff from everyone, the X1 was an example

  7. @ ares
    i keep my fingers crossed

  8. I never have SE phone but I’m waiting for the G700. It will be my new phone whenever it’s on sale in Asia Pacific. I study G700 interface & features in many reviews + forums, also compare UIQ3 with S60, search for Apps I might need,.. then decide to buy G700. Now I learn more about UIQ & Symbian. Thanks to your website.
