YouTube on UIQ 3 with CorePlayer
In my YouTube Rant, I wrote that there is no way for UIQ 3 users to view YouTube files directly. Not only YouTube, but generally, all Flash based videos (FLV). Today, I can happily share with you guys that us UIQ 3 users can now search, and watch YouTube videos directly on our UIQ 3 smartphones using CorePlayer Mobile latest version (1.24), there’s a YouTube support which, during my test, worked beautifully (on 3G and WiFi connection).
This is one of the most requested functions from the UIQ 3 community and although there is no support to play YouTube on the internet browser yet, the current function is usable and made my P1i a true mobile workhorse & entertainment device.
Here are some screenshots :

Commenting on the new release, Dan Marlin in his email to me said, that this is only the beginning. “In future versions we are adding full YT support that includes video uploading, account login, related, more, email link, bookmarks. So this is really just the beginning of what our ‘Channels’ page will be…. Channels will list out current ‘HOT’ websites (like Veoh)”. I smell something really nice is cooking in the CoreCodec lab
More screenshots for you to feast!

If you haven’t bought CorePlayer yet, what are you waiting for? Forget all the other video player available on UIQ 3, just get this one for crying out loud!!!
Who else think this is the ULTIMATE mobile media experience on UIQ 3? Come on guys….

OMFG, my tongue just hit my keyboard I WANT IT NOW. ULTIMATE INDEED
you can access to youtube from m.youtube.com too. just with a uiq3 device.
@gezz,
We all know that http://m.youtube.com is accessible from the UIQ 3 browser. If you read my YouTube rant i mentioned in the article above, I already mentioned m.youtube.com.
What lacking from UIQ 3 applications catalogue, is a 3rd party solution which doesn’t use the built in browser & the crappy media stream app. Hence, I referref to applications for S60 3rd Edition like Mobitubia etc.
Cheers!
Yep, this is real youtube
Heeey!
Great.
One question - what is the RAM consumption of this app??
I just hope it runs smoothly also on P990…….
Superb, and these guys from Core are great!!!
@asri
you’re allright! i just said there is another way to access youtube.
i think some guys know the core player as only one youtube solution for uiq3.
cheers!
Guys, go to settings, and change from RTSP to FLV (+ UDP), and you will see much better quality videos!
