I put all the archive files on the C: of my phone.
But after restarting the phone when i started the walkman application it said “The Application cannot be started”
Please help.

When I copy the files to the c:\ folder on the phone, am I supposed to overwrite the existing resource, sys, etc.. folders? Currently when I copy, it says that the existing folders will be overwritten and I’m not sure if that’s the right way to do it. Should I copy the files one by one and place them in the folders? I tried that too, and it still says certain files will be overwritten. should i allow it or not?

Hi Benji JK,

Please do not follow their request to overwrite otherwise you will have to flash your phone and reinstall everything ! You need to check carefully your existing folder and sub-folder in C: drive. If you find some folder already there so you can only copy the files in the zip file to existing conresponding folder in C: do not overwrite anything !

Actually there’s no need to uninstall Walkman2.0, nor to overwrite the files 2 times. One is enough, all that’s needed, is to reboot 2 times after that, one by yourself, and the second time the phone will reboot itself when you try to start walkman3.0 (a message comes on the screen after the reboot, saying the phone restarted to improve efficiency!). After the second reboot, walkman 3.0 works just fine.

I’m sure anybody can help me. I would like to know if any “standard” function of SE P1i will be dissability if I install this Walkman (3) version. What happens with the build- in player? Is gonna be there? What happens If I want to unistall later, I’m gonna be able to do it? I want to install this app, but I’m afraid to put this file into the C drive at the phone. Is valid my concern?

I also got the “Application cannot be started” message, but after upgrading the firmware all works well, and even better now with louder volume.

i turn off my phone,then turn on it again..but i couldn’t find any walkman apps in “tools”.. can anyone help me please why its not working on my P1i ?.. thank you very very much …

pls. help me!!! my problem is how to install this one.because it appears as a question mark file in my P1i after sending the “c” folder containing the applications i restart it but still disame.all i can see is he design and some icons in other folder..can somebody help me to install this one properly…i badly want this one on my P1i….warm regards to all..

Try extracting the “sys”, “shared”, “resource” and “private” folders to the root of the drive instead. You’re going to get a warning about overwriting files, because the directories exist on the phone- mem. If there were files with the same names in the directories, they’d be overwritten. But you won’t delete any content in the existing folders.

..”caps” probably refers to the protection on the file- system. What the hack does is changing a byte in running memory that controls the writing rights. So every time you boot the phone, it’s back to the way it was. If you start capsswitch, then, the caps will probably be on. Turn them “off”, and you’ll have access to the filesystem. It’s a good idea to turn it back on again when you’re done messing around.

I manage to turn off the CapSwitch and put all the archive files on the C: of my phone.
But after restarting the phone I also manage to see Walkman Icon in the folder. but when i started the walkman application it said “The Application cannot be started”

i read the post above many times and they only say keep copy and paste and restart the phone. i also tried many many times and still no luck..

Some people have had trouble installing Walkman3 over Walkman2. Either reflash the phone, or go through and remove all the files for Walkman2 - and then try installing Walkman3 again..

@yes: that’s only if you install the w960 firmware on the p1, because the hardware addressing and the specified layouts are different. The walkman3 software is a standalone application (that incidentally I’d be willing to pay money for to get on my p1) like any other program using the UIQ framework.

you cannot install walkman v3.0 into p990i or p990.it will not work.the wplayer hack pack is needing a R6GO4 organizer to install this wonderful application into your phone.at first as you can see in my prev. post im looking for help but no body answered.thats why i figure it out how to run this application to my P1i.its not that complicated.some body help and he came from UK and help me install this walkman player on my P1i.now i dont have to buy w960i because of this hack.the only dif. bet. w960i and P1i is the walkman player and 8 gig memory,the rest the P1i have it.now i have the 8 gig. m2 mmc on my p1i.its running fine!now ihave P1i and w960i in one gadget!COOL!!!for some one who needs my help.just post it here!!!UIQ RULEZZZ!!!!warm regards to all…

@haydendo: No (memory use is through the roof), but you can use walkman 2.0 with walkman 3.0 visualisations, if you get hold of moherovy’s mods over at ipmart or whatever that other forum was called. It’s a really good mod, and much quicker than Walkman 3.

@Gab: go through the walkman2 archive, and delete those files on the phone one by one (making sure not to delete too many sub- directories, and so on. It’s the only way. (..I was sort of working on just packaging the mods in a sis- file. And wrote a pkg- file for walkman3, and compiled an archive. But I never tested it, because the phone had to be clean of Walkman files before running the package the first time.. I’m sure it works, though… But any uninstalls and so on needs a strong certificate (to update or delete existing files), which I don’t have. Still, it would be nice if people packaged their mods like this instead. Less grief all round.)

ive been surfin on the net finding out how to install walkman 3.0 on my p1i. i got the walkman 3.0 files but iv had a problem with downloading the capswitch whch doesnt work on my phone for unknown reasons… i have looked also for appTRk which also doesnt work on my phone. can somebody tel me what to do. ive been dreaming to install walkman 3.0 to my phone, somebody pls help me !
