iPhone wannabe? Try Primetech’s Contacts for UIQ 3
Heh, if you are one of those who like to show off the power of your UIQ 3 smartphones to others, I think you gonna love this one. Basically, it’s a contact viewer which reads the built-in contact database and present it in a different plate ala iPhone. To give you clearer understanding of what it is, watch this video :
Cool aint it? This application really puts some amount of fun in it. Salute to the developers for bringing this to the UIQ 3 community and they deserve our support. Read the description from the official website which says :”Contact manager “Primetech Contacts for UIQ 3.x” is designed to manage contact list using a finger instead of a stylus.
All contact list actions are made by the moving of a thumb. Various movements done over the list (bottom-up, right-left, etc.) correspond to a certain action. It works well for fast contact search and making calls on the move when there is no opportunity to use stylus. Do everything you want: send SMS, MMS, make calls with just a flick of a finger!Large and user-friendly iPhone style control elements provide extremely comfortable way of navigation through your phone book.
Easy-customizable interface – you can change anything you want from position on the screen to size and color of the elements – create your own theme or use the existing ones. There is also hardware keyboard search support, wheel support and flip-mode support.
What do you guys think?
sweeeeet does it need signing? better than starcontact (P1i version anyway it doesn’t use the screen well)
Works very poor on my P1. Unable to reach settings etc. But idea is very good. Thanks Asri for info
Great app, but unable to reach settings on my P1 also. If someone knows how to do so, it would be nice !
@all
There is no problem with the application. It works as advertised. And it is not very complicated like you think.
Regarding unable to send SMS and make call from within the app, I think that are the restrictions made by the developer for the trial/demo version. I dont know… just throwing what I think about it…
To access it’s setting, Touch and Hold the Menu on the top right of the screen (DONT lift your finger yet, all these must be done in one touch), when the list of configurations appear, drag your finger to the bottom of the screen to Settings, only then you lift your finger. A new standard UIQ 3 setting dialog will appear for you to configure.
Hope this helps
This software demonstrates that iPhone-like-interface is very possible with UIQ. I expect them all in action with UIQ4! =)
Very nice appl, thanks Asri.
