Eldar shows love to G700 and hints P1 successor

Interesting tidbits from mobile-review.com´s Eldar Murtazin.

On the P1 successor:

You hear a bell ringing, calling for a replacement in the form of a new super-phone in 3-4 months’ time?

On the G700:

Now, as regards as to why I think this phone is one of the best deals out there, especially given my initial scepticism about it. Three reasons, everything by the book – price, edge over the competition in functionality, and unique positioning for all consumer groups.

On the G series:

There will be more additions to this series in the future – some of them are nothing out of the ordinary on paper, yet have what it takes to shake the market in a big way. In fact, these are the devices that Sony Ericsson will be increasing its market share with – the lull of the first half of 2008 will turn into a storm very soon.

On the Z10:

I have no idea how we classified this handset, but in fact that’s the most interesting twist about the Z10 – it goes very well with luxury, although it is not viewed as a fashion-conscious solution, but rather an offering for tech geeks.

I also should mention his G700 preview is already available, but only in russian for now. English version should be out soon. Same goes for z10.

Edit: i should add all this should be considered by those who see UIQ has a dying platform :)

  1. Thanks ares for bringing this to our attention.

The raison d’etre for this BLOG is to bring more UIQ related news to the masses. Considering there are tens (if not hundreds) of blogs for S60, WinMob and other mobile platforms, what we are doing with this blog is dwarfed by them.

UIQ related blogs like P1iblog, GRUIQ, and us, plus I dont know… , maybe a handful of them are dedicating their time, money and effort to support this platform (UIQ) that is believed to be dying.

The question everybody must start asking is, ”what is the PROOF of UIQ going to die?” Dont just shoot in the dark and making assumptions because assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.

Geez… I really dont understand why people are shouting everywhere about this nonsense, factless assumption.

Look at the facts, for crying out loud. UIQ Technology is now owned by Sony Ericsson and Motorola. They have doubled their workforce in a few months.

Not to say I am backing them for everything they do. I am also frustrated with how they manage things but given the opportunity, they will rock the smartphone world.

I apologise for using some strong words but on behalf of the UIQBlog team, I would like to say, we BELIEVE in UIQ in it’s ups and downs and we want to see UIQ become widely available to all. And we want to be the witness to it’s glory which will happen one day.

    Peace!

  2. Well said ;)
