Another UIQ interview
Last week, after the chat with UIQ Zed from CPS made the coment that clearly UIQ does better PR than SE.
Well, just to reinforce that view, now its Mats Barvesten, EVP Product Planning and Product Management at UIQ Technology that goes public to talk about SE´s recent announcement on the Xperia X1 and UIQ´s bet on”Building Flexibility”.
Interestingly, this interview gives us much information about what to expect in the future than the other recent public contacts we add with UIQ. Pay attention to what is said about the UIQ roadmap for 2008.

I realy love UIQ as much as i love it to succeed. But they lack development tools for creating quality UIQ softwares. They’re yet to come out with an open source RAD tools for UIQ. I heared that UIQ programmers just use tools created by Nokia such as Carbide.c++ and hack it for UIQ development
SuperInggo, if you look at the UIQ developer website, you’ll see they don’t really lack development tools (http://developer.uiq.com/devtools_tools.html): all the major ones support UIQ, or you will find extensions and plugins making them support UIQ, even some RAD tools are available (at least 2).
I really doubt the UIQ programmers hack Carbide, given that Carbide fully support UIQ.
