Core Player 1.2.0 is out!

 About CorePlayer UIQ 3 version 1.20 CorePlayer UIQ 3, 1.20 File Association

This is what Dan Marlin said in the official CorePlayer Forum “hew!…. hard work and just in time for the weekend (and Bike Week down here in Daytona Florida).

So here is it CorePlayer Mobile v1.2.0 ‘preview’ for Symbian S60 and UIQ. Released as;

- Symbian S60 v2
- Symbian S60 v3 (digitally signed)
- Symbian UIQ v2
- Symbian UIQ v3 (digitally signed)

So, whats new? Well since our last ‘Beta’ Symbian release, this version has the largest amount of overall changes/additions/fixes. But the biggest thing many ppl will find is the stability. This was a top priority for us with this milestone.

As with CE, Windows and OS X. We need feedback on this preview version before we call it final in 2 weeks 3/14. So posting bugs as soon as you come across then here http://coreforge.org/tracker/?func=browse&group_id=15&atid=225 will help making 1.2 the best it can be.
As far as a changelog… I will post that tomorrow… but 1.2 for symbian features everything listed here: http://coreplayer.com/content/view/23/1/ with about 300+ changes.”

Anybody gotten their hands on the new release yet? Share with us your thoughts ok.

  1. Tks for the editing guys, i am still on mobile, so its better for you to add stuff to the article.

    My impressions so far: much more stable, symbian signed is wonderfull - file associations, backlight always on, etc. Tested some divx and mp4 h263, great quality. However, the real test will be a mp4 h264 file. Remember, this version does not have hw acceleration yet

  2. Ares when will you have a chance to test an mp4 h264? Do you want me to cut a short clip and send it to you to test? Im really keen to see how it handles it.

  3. Bav, send the sample to ares at uiqblog.com and i will test it

  4. I’ve just tested it with a H264 video. Unfortunately, nothing has really changed. The worse is that Betaboy has carefully
    avoided to mention anything about hw acceleration on the P1i. He only spoke about the Nokia N95.

  5. Yes, i notice the same…anyway, we should make him answer directly to the question…notice he mentions the n95, but nevermind uiq3, he does not mention any other devices for the next version

  6. Ok…i think this is can only happen if SE does improve it natively via firmware…so, i´ll stick to h263 and divx/xvid
