UIQ 3.2 product sheet published
UIQ Technology has just published the product sheet of the new UIQ 3.2 release - this is the operating system running on the newly announced Motorola Z10. This was a very subtle release of UIQ and Motorola didn’t even mention it in the press release. Furthermore UIQ Technology has been very slow updating the website with more info on UIQ 3.2, but now they’ve published the product sheet as said. Still missing, though, is the product description document and the UIQ 3.2 SDK document.
With UIQ getting larger by the minute, I have a gut feeling that UIQ 4.0 will be announced at 3GSM and I’ve got no doubt about the user interface will be stunning. Lots of things are pointing to that and now even UIQ has started doing so significantly updating the application icons of the bundled applications in UIQ. Watch this space!

UIQ 3.2 is a minor release, not a major overhaul like from UIQ 2.1 to UIQ 3. It was released to add more functions and enhance the system as well as fixing problems.
Motorola did not mention the anything about UIQ 3.2 when releasing Z10 because it is advertised as a multimedia monster / express film maker etc. Not even mentioning about it being a smartphone. This is where the Motorola’s strategy for it’s high-end multimedia offering needs to be looked at. Sometimes, people just want a simple phone that works and Motorola is strong in the States. They dont want to “scare” the potential buyers who want to get their hands on the Z10.

Exactly! I also strongly believe that UIQ 3.2 has been developed exclusively for Motorola and not for Sony Ericsson, which is why we will see a real major release soon.
It’s absolutely right that they don’t want to scare off users by letting them know that their phones are smart phones - caus’ who wants a SMART phone?? Most people don’t
