Agendus for UIQ 3 is out! But…
I’m not sure how I’m going to put my words on this. But for the sake of honesty and integrity, I will put it put for you guys anyway. Agendus is the holy grail of PIM app for Palm OS. If you dont use Agendus (or the Pro version) on your Palm OS device, I dont know how the hell you can live with the default Palm Calendar app. Agendus on Palm adds a lot of functions and improved usability as well as productivity. With it’s very easy to use interface and linking to contact function (among others), it really shines.
But when Agendus is ported to UIQ 2 (Sony Ericsson P800 & P900 etc), it looked like a half baked application. It didn’t follow UIQ application guideline and maintains Palm’s way for text entry. And it is not as comprehensive as the Palm OS version. Why? Tom Bombadil may got the answer… 
And now, the UIQ 3 version is just released. I was actually counting on it’s release because UIQ 3 is more powerful than UIQ 2 in many ways. And because there was lack of powerful PIM alternative. But when I saw the screenshots of Agendus UIQ 3, I was totally disappointed. It seems that the developer took ported it from UIQ 2 in lock stock and barrel without even customising it for UIQ 3. The looks and feel of Agendus UIQ 3 is plain, boring and at the moment, buggy. For example, The font zooming doesnt work, hard to see information on the screen if you have many text displayed. And there’s no full screen support. I can go on and on but this is not a review, only a teaser 
Why Iambic didnt make Agendus UIQ 3 as powerful as the Palm OS version or if not, on the same level as the Windows Mobile version? D’oh! Even the Windows Mobile Smartphone version looks better. Dont get me wrong, Agendus UIQ 3 has some cool stuff inside like the weather plugin and also the quote-of-the-day plugin. And it’s linking to contact feature is also cool, but AquaCalendar can do that! …
Come on Iambic, you have proven in the past that you can revolutionise PIM on Palm, do that again on Symbian… please….

I hate to say this but DreamLife is better in sooo many ways. I mean, on Palm OS, Agendus is like the best PIM you can find out there but for UIQ 3, Agendus is disappointing.
I LOVE DreamLife! It’s the closest thing you can get to a ”real” desktop class PIM. I wont be making any comparison at the moment coz there’s so many things to do but so little time. But, DreamLife review for AAS is 80% complete
They going to release an update very soon to fiz some bugs and hopefully I can publish the review as well

I had the concern about Agendus, some screenshoots looks great, I’m using DreamLife and I’m waiting for the updated. I think the point release of DL is going to turn this nice appl even better.
